Here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions, which should simplify and enhance your customer service experience. These cover the registration process – all the way to the marathon finish line – and beyond!

We will be updating our news pages and FAQ list, as more information is made available. Be sure to check back regularly to keep up to date with the very latest developments!

Post Event

Registrations are not open yet, but you can be the first to hear about the 2020 event by pre-registering right now!

Entries are expected to sell fast once again, so make sure you pre-register to be in with a chance of securing an entry at the lowest possible price!

Please email a detailed description to info@muscatmarathon.om and we will do our best to reunite you with your lost item!

Our photographers were out on the course all weekend and now you can download your personal race photos free of charge. In exchange, all we ask for is 5 minutes of your time to complete a post event survey. Visit our Personal Race Photos page and download your photos now.

If you cannot find your time or believe there is an issue with your time please email  info@muscatmarathon.om and we will resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Participant and registration/Race category

We do not operate a waiting list service for the event.

You can update your information by following the link in your confirmation email and clicking on “Edit my entry”. In regards to a transfer or category change, kindly note that we are no longer accepting requests since registration closed on the 20th of December 2018. Please note that in order to change your email address, you must contact us on info@muscatmarathon.om.

Please note that since 20th of December, it is no longer possible to change your t-shirt size or customize your bib.

It is no longer possible to change your category, as the deadline to do so has passed.

You can contact us at info@muscatmarathon.om and we will manually re-send your confirmation email for you.

u can transfer your entry by clicking the “Modify My Entry” link at the bottom of your confirmation email then click the “Transfer My Registration” button, which will take you to an online form which the new participant must fill in. Once this is completed, your entry will be transferred to the new participant.
Please note that this must be done between registration opening on the 22nd of May, until the 18th November of 2018, when the bibs will be ordered. Please note that no transfers will be possible at the end of the period specified.

Unfortunately, all entries are non-refundable or transferable.

General Race Information

This is not something we allow in the event, in any distance of the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon

What is the cut off time for the race?

Marathon – 6 hours

Half Marathon – 3 hours

10 K – 2 hours 5 K Charity Run – 1 hour

There will be entertainment on the course and there will also be some at the public village with many different stalls activities for family. Add in schedule of entertainment and also map of venue or link if not possible.

Training sessions will be held on a 400 M running track every Saturday at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex until the 12th of January 2019. These have been organized in partnership with the Alpha Fitness Gym team who will be on site offering training advice and fun activities for adults and children.

You should be at the start line at least 45 minutes before your race starts. For all information related to your pre-race planning, please refer to our runners’ guide which we be sent out ahead of the event.

Toilets will be located at the race village for spectators and participants. On course, toilets will located at each of the refreshment points, for both males and females. Please refer to this link for exact locations https://muscatmarathon.om/runners-information/

We are expecting around 8,000+ competitors over the two days.

This is not something we allow in the event, in any distance of the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon.

RACE PACK COLLECTION

Your race pack will contain runners bib, baggage tag with pins and t-shirt.

This facility is only available for international runners facing exceptional circumstances. International runners that require later race pack collection, must email info@muscatmarathon.om, no later than Thursday the 10th of January, stating their flight details.

You will then receive a response from our team to confirm acknowledgement and acceptance of your request.

All race day collections must be made by 06:00 from the Oman Sail HQ car park.

Yes, you can assign someone else to collect your race pack on your behalf.

The person collecting the pack must bring a copy of the confirmation email and a copy of an ID (Identity card for residents of Oman or a passport copy for international runners).

The Race pack collection will take place on the following dates and times:

Date: Tuesday 15th Jan- Thursday 17th of Jan 2019

Timings: 11:00 – 20:00

Venue: Oman Sail Parking, Al Mouj Muscat

Note: Bib numbers will be emailed to runners 1 week before race pack collection dates. You will need to be present a copy of this email that includes your number to the race pack collection team. This can also be presented on a smart phone or tablet.

BAGGAGE DROP OFF

The baggage drop-off will take place on the following dates and times:

Date: Friday 18th and Saturday 19th January 2019

Timings: 05:30 – 12:30

Venue: Oman Sail Parking, Al Mouj Muscat

Note: Runners MUST ONLY use the official event bag for the drop off services as there is a special tag that should be inserted in the bag pocket. We will be sending detailed instructions on the process for baggage drop off in the runner’s guide, which will be sent out soon to all participants.
