3.4The Fun Run is open to Participants of all ages. A Participant aged 7 or over may take part unaccompanied. A Participant under 7 must be accompanied for the whole Distance by a registered adult aged 18 or over.
3.5You may enter only one Distance. Where the age bands for two or more Distances overlap, you must choose one.
3.6We may require photographic identification confirming date of birth at Race Pack collection or at the start. If you cannot produce satisfactory identification you may be refused entry to your Distance without refund.
3.7A parent or legal guardian registering on behalf of a Participant under 18 accepts these Terms on that Participant’s behalf, warrants that the Participant meets the age and health requirements, and takes full responsibility for supervising that Participant before, during and after the Distance.
4.1A legally binding contract is formed between you and us when you (a) accept these Terms by ticking the relevant field on the Entry Form and (b) pay the applicable Entry Fee.
4.2Your registration is confirmed only once payment has been received. A registration for which payment fails or is later reversed is void and you may not take part.
5.1Entry Fees are published on the Event website and are set in registration periods. An Early Bird rate applied to registrations completed during August 2026. From 1 September 2026 the standard rate applies, and the price increases at the start of each subsequent monthly registration period through to the close of registration.
5.2The fee that applies to you is the fee in force at the moment you complete your registration. You are not entitled to any refund, credit or adjustment if the fee for your Distance changes after you have registered.
5.3All Entry Fees published for each Distance are exclusive of service fees and of value added tax at the prevailing rate. Service fees, value added tax, booking fees, payment processing charges and card charges are added at checkout and are payable by you in addition to the Entry Fee.
5.4We accept payment by approved debit or credit card only.
5.5If payment cannot be collected for any reason, including insufficient funds or revocation by you, you may not take part and we may charge a reasonable administrative fee.
5.6Use of the online registration platform is additionally subject to that platform’s own terms of use, published on the registration page.
6.1Your entry is personal to you. Except where we approve a transfer under clause 11, you may not assign, sell, give away or otherwise transfer your entry. An entry may not be resold or offered for resale, whether at a premium or otherwise, and may not be used for advertising, as a competition or sweepstake prize, in travel packages or for any other commercial purpose without our written consent. Unofficial transfer, resale or attempted resale is grounds for cancellation of your entry without refund.
6.2You acknowledge that participation is physically strenuous and carries inherent medical and physical risk. By completing the Entry Form you warrant that you are, and will be on Event Day, sufficiently fit and healthy to complete your Distance unaided.
6.3You will not take part if you are suffering from any injury or illness that may impair your performance or endanger you or others, and you will report any illness or injury occurring during the Event to the Event medical team immediately.
6.4You will comply with these Terms, the Runners’ Guide, all Event rules and all instructions given by us and by Event staff, stewards, marshals, and medical and safety personnel. We may issue further Event rules at any time and those rules form part of these Terms. All our decisions are final.
6.5You will comply with the anti-doping rules of the relevant governing bodies and consent to testing where required. If you refuse testing, or return an adverse finding, you will be disqualified, forfeit any prize and are not entitled to a refund.
6.6We may refuse entry to, or remove from, the Event any person who: is unfit to complete their Distance safely; behaves in a way that affects or is likely to affect the safety of others; uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour; appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs; fails to produce proof of identity or age when required; or discards litter outside designated waste areas. No refund is payable.
6.7Owing to current course and operational constraints, we are not able to accommodate wheelchair racing or hand cycling at this Event. We keep this under review. If you require any other reasonable adjustment, please contact us at info@muscatmarathon.om at least 21 days before Event Day so that we can discuss what is possible.
7.1You must wear your official bib, unaltered, on the front of your body and clearly visible at all times. Timing devices must be worn as instructed. A Participant without a valid bib will be removed from the course.
7.2You must not start before the official start time for your distance or wave, must not deviate from the official marked route, and must not re-join the course having left it except as directed by an official.
7.3The following are prohibited on course: bicycles, hand cycles, roller skates, skateboards, scooters, wheelbarrows, animals, glass containers, and any other item that in our opinion may inhibit the flow or safety of the Event. Prams and pushchairs are permitted in the Fun Run only, and are not permitted in any other Distance.
7.4We strongly discourage headphones and any other equipment that impedes hearing or concentration. If you use them, you do so entirely at your own risk and we are not responsible for any accident arising.
7.5You must not operate a drone or other unmanned aircraft at or over any part of the Event.
7.6Unauthorised persons, including unregistered runners, cyclists and support vehicles, may not accompany you on the course.
8.1Cut-off times apply so that roads can reopen in line with our obligations to the authorities. If you do not reach a checkpoint or the finish within the Cut-Off Time you may be removed from the course, transferred to a vehicle and taken to the finish area, and you are not entitled to a refund.
8.2The Cut-Off Times for each Distance are:
| Distance | Intermediate cut-off | Finish cut-off |
|---|---|---|
| Marathon 42.2KM | 3 hours 15 minutes at 21.1KM | 6 hours 00 minutes |
| Half Marathon 21.1KM | 1 hour 45 minutes at 10KM | 3 hours 00 minutes |
| 10KM | — | 1 hour 45 minutes |
| 5KM | — | 1 hour 15 minutes |
| سباق المرح | — | No cut-off |
| Kids’ Run 2KM | — | No cut-off |
| Kids’ Run 1KM | — | No cut-off |
8.3All Cut-Off Times run from the official start time of your Distance or wave, not from the moment you cross the start line. The times above are confirmed in the Runners’ Guide, which prevails if it differs.
8.4We will endeavour to provide an official finish time but are not liable for timing anomalies or technical malfunction. Where a timing device fails, we may determine your result by any reasonable alternative means, or record you as a finisher without a time.
8.5Provisional results are published after each Distance. Any query or protest must be submitted in writing to info@muscatmarathon.om within 72 hours of publication. Results become final once that period has passed and any protest has been determined. Our decision is final and not subject to appeal.
8.6Course-cutting, bib-swapping, entering under another person’s name, or failing to complete the full official route will result in disqualification, removal from the results, forfeiture of any prize and no refund.
9.1Prize categories, values and eligibility are published on the Event website and in the Runners’ Guide.
9.2Prizes are awarded on official timing results and are subject to verification, including verification of age, identity and completion of the full route.
9.3If you qualify for more than one prize you may claim all prizes for which you qualify, unless the published prize conditions state otherwise.
9.4Prize money is paid within 60 days of Event Day. Where payment will take longer we will notify you in advance with an explanation and an estimated payment date.
9.5Unless the published prize conditions state otherwise, you must be present at the awards ceremony to be recognised. Prize money remains payable under clause 9.4 whether or not you attend.
9.6Any tax payable on a prize is your responsibility.
10.1Cancellation Protection was offered only to Participants registering between 11 and 31 August 2026 inclusive, for an additional fee of OMR 2 paid at the time of registration. It could not be added to a registration afterwards, and the OMR 2 fee is itself non-refundable.
10.2Participants registering from 1 September 2026 onwards are not eligible for Cancellation Protection, and their registration is subject to the standard no-refund policy in clause 11.
10.3If you purchased Cancellation Protection you may request cancellation of your registration and a refund of the Entry Fee actually paid, provided your request reaches us by email to info@muscatmarathon.om no later than 31 December 2026.
10.4From 1 January 2027 no cancellation or refund request will be accepted, including from Participants who purchased Cancellation Protection.
10.5A refund under Cancellation Protection excludes the OMR 2 Cancellation Protection fee, booking fees, service fees, payment processing charges, card charges and any other administrative or third-party transaction fee.
10.6Cancellation Protection covers your Event registration only. It does not cover travel, accommodation, transport, equipment, training or any other cost you incur.
10.7Cancellation Protection governs refunds only. Deferral and transfer are dealt with separately in clause 11, do not require Cancellation Protection, and are subject to the same 31 December 2026 deadline.
11.1Places are limited and every registration has a direct effect on the planning and logistics of the Event. Accordingly, and except where Cancellation Protection applies under clause 10, all registrations are non-refundable.
11.2You may withdraw at any time by writing to info@muscatmarathon.om. Withdrawal does not create any entitlement to a refund unless clause 10 applies and your request is made in time.
11.3You may request a change of Distance until 19 January 2027, subject to availability and to the age requirements of the new Distance. If you move to a higher-priced Distance you must pay the difference. If you move to a lower-priced Distance you are not entitled to any refund or credit of the difference.
11.4You may request to defer your entry to the next edition of the Event, being the 2028 Experience Oman Muscat Marathon. Deferral is available only where all of the following apply:
11.5No deferral request will be accepted after 31 December 2026, whatever the reason.
11.6A deferral is to the next edition only. Your entry cannot be deferred a second time, cannot be carried beyond the 2028 edition, and cannot be converted into a refund.
11.7A deferred entry applies to the same Distance you originally entered. If you wish to move to a different Distance in the following edition you must request a distance change, and where you move to a higher-priced Distance you must pay the difference in Entry Fee. No refund or credit is given where you move to a lower-priced Distance.
11.8You may request to transfer your entry to another person. Transfer is available only where all of the following apply:
11.9No transfer request will be accepted after 31 December 2026, whatever the reason.
11.10All transfers are subject to availability of a place in the relevant Distance and to our approval. Transfers are processed free of charge.
11.11A transferred entry retains the original Distance. The receiving person becomes the Participant and accepts these Terms in full. An entry may be transferred once only.
11.12Clauses 11.2 to 11.11 do not apply to Third-Party Participants. All withdrawals, refunds, distance changes, transfers and deferrals for Third-Party Participants must be handled through the third party through which you registered. We do not refund a Third-Party Participant directly unless we agree otherwise in writing.
11.13All requests under this clause are subject to verification of your registration details and compliance with these Terms. Our decision is final.
12.1You accept that Event arrangements may change. We may alter the start time, wave allocation, course, Distance or format at our discretion, including for reasons of safety, weather or the requirements of an authority. Where we do so you are not entitled to a refund and we have no further liability, provided the Event takes place on the scheduled date. We will give as much notice of any change as is reasonably practicable.
12.2Extreme heat, humidity or air quality may require us to alter start times, shorten a course, introduce additional Cut-Off Times, or suspend or abandon a Distance. Any such decision is made in the interests of participant safety and does not entitle you to a refund.
12.3If the Event does not take place on the scheduled date because of circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including fire, storm, flood, earthquake, explosion, acts of a public enemy, war, insurrection, terrorist act or threat of one, sabotage, epidemic, embargo, strike, or the death of a leading member of the Omani Royal Family (“Force Majeure”), you may either take part on an alternative date notified by us, or receive a refund of your Entry Fee excluding booking and processing fees, provided you request it in writing to info@muscatmarathon.om within the period we specify at the time.
12.4In no case are you entitled to any other sum from us, including compensation for travel, accommodation or any other expense.
13.1Participation is at your own risk. You agree to hold harmless and indemnify us against any liability, cost, damage or expense, including legal fees, incurred in connection with any accident, loss, damage or injury, including death, arising out of your attendance at or participation in the Event, except where caused by our negligence or that of our employees.
13.2We are not liable in contract, tort including negligence, or otherwise for any loss of business, revenue, profit, charity funds, anticipated saving or wasted expenditure, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
13.3Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any matter which it would be unlawful for us to exclude.
13.4Except as stated in clause 13.3, our total liability to you in connection with the Event is limited to the Entry Fee you paid.
13.5We are not liable for the acts of spectators or other third parties.
13.6We strongly recommend that you hold your own personal accident, medical and travel insurance. The Entry Fee does not include insurance for you.
13.7Items given out at the Event, including food and drink, may contain or have been produced alongside nuts or other allergens. We cannot accept responsibility for any reaction. If you have allergies, please check with staff before consuming anything and carry your own medication.
13.8Where a bag drop is provided, items are left entirely at your own risk. We accept no liability for loss of or damage to personal property. Unclaimed property is held for 14 days after Event Day and then disposed of.
14.1By entering, you consent to receiving such first aid, emergency medical treatment or ambulance transport as the Event medical team considers necessary, and to that team sharing relevant medical information with treating clinicians.
14.2The cost of any onward hospital treatment, ambulance transport or repatriation is your responsibility or that of your insurer.
14.3You may be withdrawn from your Distance at any time on the instruction of the Event medical team. That decision is final and no refund is payable.
15.1We process the personal data you provide on the Entry Form in order to administer and safely deliver the Event, to publish results, and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations. Providing the mandatory fields is a condition of participation.
15.2Mandatory fields include name, gender, date of birth, contact details, emergency contact details and relevant medical information. We may refuse or cancel a registration where this information is false or incomplete, or where you ask us to delete it while remaining registered.
15.3We share your personal data only as necessary, and only with:
15.4Results, including name, category, age group, nationality and finish time, are published and remain publicly available as a permanent record of the Event.
15.5Medical information is treated as confidential, is shared only with medical personnel allocated to the Event, and is deleted within a reasonable period after the Event unless you consent to its retention for a future event.
15.6We will send you operational communications about the Event you have entered by email, SMS and WhatsApp. These are necessary for participation and cannot be opted out of while you remain registered.
15.7Marketing communications about future events, partners and offers are sent only where you have given separate, specific consent by opting in on the Entry Form. You may withdraw that consent at any time using the opt-out in any marketing message or by writing to us. You may still receive messages already in production at the time you withdraw.
15.8We share your personal data with sponsors, partners or charities for their own marketing only where you have separately opted in to that specific sharing.
15.9We retain your registration data for three years after the Event, so that we can administer your participation in the following two editions, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Published results are retained permanently as a record of the Event, as set out in clause 15.4, and medical information is deleted as set out in clause 15.5.
15.10You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, may object to processing, and may withdraw consent, by writing to info@muscatmarathon.om. Some requests may prevent continued participation, as set out in clause 15.2.
15.11You must keep your registration details accurate and must tell us of any change to your contact details, emergency contact or medical condition before Event Day.
16.1You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sub-licensable licence to photograph, film, record and interview you at, before and after the Event, and to use your name, image, likeness, voice, and biographical and result information in all media, current and future, for the purpose of reporting on, promoting, marketing and advertising the Event, future editions of it, the Organiser and Event sponsors.
16.2If you would prefer not to be individually featured in marketing material, please write to info@muscatmarathon.om and we will use reasonable endeavours to accommodate that request. This does not extend to general course, crowd and finish-line coverage, or to the publication of results.
16.3Participation confers no right to use the Event’s names, marks, logos or other intellectual property.
16.4You must not engage in ambush marketing, must not infringe the rights of any Event sponsor or commercial partner, and must not carry out any unauthorised promotion or commercial activity at the Event. This includes unauthorised branding on clothing or bibs and unauthorised distribution of samples or literature.
